Optsis

Optsis (derived from "Optical Assistant") is an app that is designed to help partially sighted people to access functions on mobile phones.  It can help with:

  • Making phone calls
  • Sending text messages
  • Reading and replying to text messages
  • Reading and replying to email messages
  • Flagging text/email messages to helpers.

The app is designed to be set-up by a helper; when set-up in conjunction with a phones assistance features, it is possible (for instance) to open the app by clicking a large widget (button), or by double pressing the phones on/off button.  Different phones allow different ways of accessing apps, but once the user is in Optsis, they have access to the features above.
